Shan received his Ph.D. degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from the Institute of Intelligent Information Processing, Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2007. His research interests include biomedical image analysis,computer vision,sparse representations, and statistical analysis of natural images.
