UH Medical Student Selected for National AIM Scholarship
Being a pioneer is bit of a tradition for Houstonian Breanna Chachere. In 2020, Chachere was picked as a member of the inaugural class for the new Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. Now the second-year medical student is one of 20 student scholars chosen from around the nation for the inaugural cohort of the Alliance for Inclusion in Medicine (AIM) Scholarship Program.

UH Medical Student Selected to Serve on Texas Pediatric Society Subcommittee
Brittanie Cockrell, a second-year student at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine, has been selected to serve on the 2021-2022 Texas Pediatric Society Medical Student Section Subcommittee. Cockrell, who is representing the college on the subcommittee, started her term in June.

Students and faculty from the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2021 by volunteering in Beauty’s Garden, a community garden in the historic neighborhood of Independence Heights in northwest Houston, minutes from downtown.
