On the day of your Tour

  1. Check out these directions to campus, or type "University of Houston Welcome Center" (4400 University Dr, Houston, TX 77204) into your preferred navigation app. 
  2. You are required to park in the Welcome Center garage on the third or fourth level. Please note: hourly parking rates apply
  3. On the day of your scheduled campus tour, please check in outside of the Welcome Center no more than 10 minutes prior to your visit time. You will receive a text message 10 minutes before your tour with a check-in code.
  4. Be prepared for the weather: Bring plenty of water and comfortable clothes for an outdoor tour. We'll also continue our tours rain or shine, so if it's raining, bring an umbrella!

Register for a tour

We are excited to welcome you to the University of Houston—in person—to see for yourself what life is like on campus! Our 90-minute tour will showcase campus hotspots and the academic colleges specific to your interest.

The health and safety of staff members and visitors are our top priority at this time. Please review the information below, University protocols, and our visitor guidelines before registering for an in-person visit:

  • Registration is required and is limited to one student and up to two guests.
  • A brief tour of Cougar Village II, UH's most popular residence hall, will be included. If you'd like to explore more UH housing options, check out the virtual Living on Campus tour.
  • Schedule an advising appointment if you'd like to meet one-on-one with an admissions advisor, in-person or virtually.

In-Person tour capacities are limited to maintain the health and safety of our guests and campus community. We are working diligently to increase our in-person tour capacity. Please check availability frequently, as spots may open with cancellations. If you are unable to register for your preferred date at this time, we encourage you to check out our virtual offerings or come to campus for a self-guided tour!

In-Person Tour

Get to know the Powerhouse by taking a walking tour through the University of Houston. Register for a 60-minute, guided tour below for the opportunity to explore campus hotspots and academic colleges, and get a glimpse of student life. Please note that this tour option encompasses the guided walking tour only (admissions presentation not included). Space is limited, so if you don't see the time that best fits your schedule, check out our virtual tours.
 

In-Person Tour with a Prospective Freshman Presentation

Hoping to learn about the admissions process during your visit? We've got you covered! Register below for a combined tour session that features a 30-minute admissions presentation followed by a 90-minute walking tour with our UH Ambassadors. If you choose this option, you do not need to register for an additional walking tour time—it's already included! Space is limited, so if you don't see the time that best fits your schedule, check out our virtual admissions presentations.

Transfer Tuesday

Join us for a special event geared toward prospective transfer students to learn more about transferring credits, academics, admission, financial aid, and more! This presentation will be followed by a 90-minute tour will highlight campus hotspots as well as academic colleges relevant to your field of study. Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if the tour I want to join is at capacity?

    Due to COVID-19 policies, all guests must be pre-registered. We will be unable to accommodate additional guests or walk-in registrations. In the event that you are on campus and our tour capacity has been reached, we can provide you with a self-guided tour packet, and you can explore campus at your own pace.

  • What if I want to bring more than two guests?

    At this time, we are unable to accommodate more than two guests per registered student. This is to allow the maximum number of prospective students to attend while maintaining physical distancing during the tour. We will not be able to make any exceptions to this policy.

  • How do I get to campus and where do I park for tours?

  • What happens in the case of inclement weather?

    Campus tours will take place rain or shine—unless the university is closed for inclement weather. In the event that UH is closed, you will be notified via email.

  • Will the tour go inside buildings?

    The majority of your experience on campus will occur outdoors to prioritize the health and safety of our campus. Check-in will occur outside of the Welcome Center. A brief tour of Cougar Village II, UH's most popular freshmen residence hall, will be included. The tour will enter the Student Center where public restrooms are accessible.

  • How much walking will I do on the tour?

    Campus tours are 45 – 60 minutes and will be personalized based on the academic college of interest for the prospective students. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes. If you need special accommodations, please note that on your tour registration.

  • Can I speak with an admissions counselor to ask specific questions?

    At this time, we are unable to provide in-person admission presentations and appointments. For students with specific questions, we recommend contacting us at admissions@uh.edu, 713-743-1010 (option 4), or making a virtual appointment with an admissions counselor.

  • Will I be able to meet with someone from my college of interest?

    UH offers the opportunity to speak with academic colleges virtually.

  • Is visitor parking validated?

    Unfortunately, parking is not validated and visitor-parking rates will apply.
